Bird Art from Diane Taylor: The Prairie Warbler

For more information about birding in Corpus Christi please call the Corpus Christi Area Convention & Visitors Bureau at 1 (800) 678-6232. You can receive a free brochure on birding in the local area as well as information on where to stay and other things to see. The birding brochure has been updated this summer by Emily Payne and a new version (minor changes) will be out shortly.
Calling the Convention & Visitors Bureau helps to convince the local authorities to support birding and conservation in general.
Two of the centers of the Visitor's Bureau are very convenient for birders. One is by the Oak mottes on North Padre Island and another is as you approach Corpus Christi on I37, just before the turnoff for the Valley. The third main center is downtown on the waterfront. Carter Whatley has been talking to Marilyn Pierce, the director of the Visitor's Bureau, about displaying RBA information at the centers. If there is enough interest from birders, it will happen.
